Do you know that feeling of
getting to know a place
and leaving a piece of your heart there when you left?
You’ve moved on with your life. You don’t revisit that place often, nor do you miss that piece of your heart.
But when you catch a glimpse of it in passing,
suddenly you’re reminded of memories crystalized in that space and time
and a version of you, who was hopeful, happy, and sad.
You catch yourself sitting on a train, moving fast and slow through the scenes of your past life
as if it was never gone. Through the foggy window, you remember you smiled then.
As if it was already gone.

Raindrops gently tapped on your shoulders then, casting semicolons on your window now.
It’s a new season. Sad, happy, hopeful.
